Drone gone

The Iranians say they have shot down and captured a US stealth drone. This drone, possibly a RQ-170, is super secret and can avoid detection.

The unmanned drone can scout the landscape for nuclear weapons. No pictures of the drone in Iranian hands or other evidence to prove the capture of the drone have emerged. Loss of the RQ-170 could leak secret technology to other countries, like China, which could have an opportunity to examine it closely.

The US did admit a drone went missing last week.

We will just have to wait for confirmation and, in the meantime, hope it's not the drone.

New Jersey May Gamble With Taxpayer Money

New Jersey may be going into the gambling business using taxpayer money. New Jersey could decide to provide as much as $200 million over 20 years to jump start a stalled Atlantic City Revel casino project. Like all gamblers, the state is hopes to recoup some or all of that investment.

In return for assisting the Revel casino project, the state would have a stake in the future success of the company under a plan to be reviewed by state officials on Tuesday.

If the project reaches certain milestones, the state could get paid back. Most likely, the money will be gathered by gangsters and scurried outside of  U.S. reach

Gov. Chris Christie is also expected to sign legislation that launches an experimental tourist district in Atlantic City in a bid to revive the troubled gaming town.

The state will take a role in policing the tourism district, with the head of a local police unit picked by the State Police superintendent. To me all of this sounds like future trouble, and a crime explosion. The state is never a safe , secure way of picking a police/ military overseer and this plan is full of potential increased governmental corruption.

OBAMA STATE OF UNION ADDRESS

President Obama hit all of the topics in his State of the Union Address tonight.

While the President did a great job, it was funny to watch the audience in high-def. Naturally, we all waited for the Boehner "crying moment," and it came after  the President noted the working-class backgrounds of Biden and himself.. Boehner's lips quivered, as he pictured himself sweeping floors as a youth, but he managed to halt the big bawling scene. Boehner has practiced. Boehner's tie appeared pink/red - a girlie-man?

I noted SC Justice Ginsberg seemed asleep at one point, center front. I thought she was going to roll forward. But the President mentioned supporting our troops, and the Ginsberg sleeping moment was gone, although she still seemed slow.

I noted a large lump on the left side of John McCain's neck - was this video trickery, or does McCain have a neck growth? We'll have to wait and see.

OPRAH'S AUSTRALIAN ADVENTURE -  Part 1

Oprah takes over 300 "Ultimate Viewers" and around 200 staffers to Australia for fun, adventure, food, and education. Her views of the Great Coral Reef were SPECTACULAR. We were surprised to see Koala bears mating.

Oprah visited Uluru, a  natural sandstone site in the northern territory - described as a powerful spiritual landmark - possibly an ancient sea floor now revealed. After exploration, the group had a silent moment of gratitude and prayer.

Aborigine leaders offered handmade gifts and a tour. It was not until 1968 that aborigines were first counted as people, although they have been there for centuries. (Note: American Blacks could not visit Australia until 1970 - they were not allowed off boats or airplanes.)  In the evening the aboriginal women performed a traditional dance.

Tasmania with farms and beaches were visited...and naturally a Tasmanian devil.

Melbourne, second largest city, was a mob scene at Federation Square. Julia Gillard, the first female Prime Minister, sees herself as a role-model to girls. The crowd in Federation square was almost all white - I saw a few Africans.

I don't feel great about this "new" Congress - looks like the same "old boys club " to me. Jeff Denham has been given the job of frat party thrower and fundraiser. Hence, on the day BEFORE he even gets into office, he throws a $2,500 a plate dinner at a luxury hotel in D.C.. I guess the economy is doing very well after all.

Next Boehner starts crying repeatedly. He is like an old depressed drunk. In fact, he has around eleven brothers and sisters. His sister said, “John is a little man and he has a big job ahead of him." With family confidence like that, it is no wonder Boehner started the, "my gavel is bigger than yours" contest. Yes, it sounds like a penile problem to me too. In fact, as Boehner was waving his gavel around with great pride about its size, the gavel began to resemble a "penis analogy" to me.  Let the frat party begin.

Next these guys, getting high salaries, decide to read the Constitution aloud on the House floor. Maybe these guys should have been reading the Constitution instead of partying, drinking and womanizing at the lavish party the night before. Yes, we got to pay to hear these inept congressmen read the Constitution aloud. It was sad to hear some of the congressional members stumble over the words. That reading exercise cost us citizens around a million dollars or more...our tax money.

The Republicans said the only idea they had for reducing federal spending was to cut the congressional budget. Later, it was revealed that actually the congressional budget would be too hard to cut, so the reduction will be greatly reduced and the congressional party can continue.

Boehner said first job, as Speaker of the House, is to repeal health care reform legislation. The Congressional Budget Office says that will cost over $230 billion dollars with the investments already made - plus the Senate will not pass the repeal bill, so it is a waste of time and money - but a good show for gullible Republicans. On a news interview show when Boehner was asked what he planned to cut to reduce federal spending as promised during the campaign, Boehner said, in spite of all of his years in the House, he "had no specific ideas."

DENHAM SELLS OUT VALLEY AND SEEKS LOTS OF CASH

Denham rushes straight for the cash. What a CREEP!!! Denham is not my
congressperson because he refused to talk to any Democrats during the past
election. But for Republicans, your representative in Congress had a dinner
costing $2,500 a plate in D.C. BEFORE he was even sworn in.

Why would anyone pay $2,500 for a Denham dinner?

As I said during the campaign, Denham is
selling out the valley and the buyers came to look over Denham's weaknesses and
priorities. He has gold in his eyes. No one would pay to hear Denham speak. He
has no significant formal education, he ignored the Valley, so we end up with
high crime, poor education, rotting infrastructure, illegal alien problems and
many gangs.  Denham skips out and brought in Boehner for a $1,000 a plate LUNCH
and started selling out the valley to Boehner before the November general
election. Boehner took the money and ran, and Denham promised he would do more
to fund the Republicans. This will be Denham's place in Congress. He will have
no ideas or abilities to help the valley. He is the "dirty dog" or the thug next
to the mobster.

OBAMA SIGNS TO HELP 9/11 RESCUERS

Thanks to President Obama, during the December break while home in Hawaii, the President signed a financial help package for the 9/11 rescuers. The 9/11 World Trade Center Rescuers will get some money to help with medical care, death benefits, disability retirement benefits and other terrorist-related injuries. The President had a rough time passing this legislation because the Republicans in Congress did not want to pass it. The Republicans said it there was no plan to fund the bill, so they voted against it. Finally, there was a statement that the funding will come from overseas corporations..

I know our rescuers did not hesitate to search and rescue victims of the tragedy...and I would not have allowed them to suffer so long. Thanks President Obama. Rotten tomatoes to the Republicans in Congress.

Mexico is becoming a mecca for murders of women and children. A news story cites the tale of Marisela Escobedo a nurse in the U.S. who retired after her16-year-old daughter, Rubi Marisol, was found killed and dismembered in August 2008. The suspect, her live-in boyfriend, Sergio Rafael Barraza, escaped into Mexico, out of American hands.

The set out to find the suspect, and she did in Zacatecas. She led investigators to him and HE CONFESSED and LED THE investigators to the site where he buried the dismembered body.
At trial, Barraza said he was tortured and forced to confess. So, in April 2010, a three-judge panel acquitted Barraza and said the prosecution did not have enough evidence against Barraza. The appeals court overturned the verdict and instated a 50-year-term. However, Barraza was again no where to be found and no law enforcement officers looked for him. In the meantime, Barraza joined a gang Los Zetas and had made death threats against the victim's mother, Marisela Escobedo.

The 52-year-old mother said she was going to stand in front of the governor's palace in Chihuahua city, the capital of Chihuahua state, where the Ciudad of Juarez is located. Marisela said if Barraza and the gang were going to kill her, they had to do it to shame the officials for the injustices.
As the mother protested outside of the palace, a video camera shows a white Jetta stop, a man approached her and she ran into traffic to cross the street. The man was right behind her and shot her in the head with a 9 mm pistol. Marisela died. The hit-man got away. Barraza is still free and part of a very violent gang.

In 1993, there were a string of very brutal murders in Chihuahua, lasting through 2003. The federal government put together units to investigate and prosecute the killers. The problem still exists. Estimates from the Chihuahua news reports put the number of women and girls killed from 1993 thru 2003 around 1,000. The number of men and boys killed was no mentioned.

CREDIT CARD COMPANIES BACK ON THE PROWL

BEWARE!!! Credit card companies are back offering extremely high rate cards to people with bad credit. The terms of these credit cards also gives all of the rights to the companies and those who sign up will surely be big time losers. Remember, Bush made it hard to get rid of these corrupt cards via bankruptcy.

BEST IDEA. Tear up those offers and throw them away.

MADOFF SCAM VICTIMS FIND MONEY

Jeffery Picower, perhaps a secret partner of Maddoff was paid billions. Jeffery, age 67, died in his Palm Beach mansion swimming pool last year, Today, his widow, Barbara, has announced to federal courts she would return $7.2 BILLION DOLLARS that Jefferey got from Madoff. Madoff, of course, is in prison. Jeffery was under investigation for his part in the Ponzi scheme.

The return of the BILLIONS means Madoff's victims may get 1/2 or more of their investment losses back as a settlement. Some victims have taken jobs as maids due to Madoff's scams. Don't cry for Barbara. Her husbands invetments on the money increased their booty thousands of times. Maybe she should shell out more.

Education Reform Needed Now in Central California

U.S. is 25th and 21st in math and science. Kids in Shanghai are the top learners. We must invest in our youth. Fresno area was declared one of the dumbest areas in then U.S.
We must discontinue this disdain for education in the Central Valley and ensure our kids are getting a great education.
We must do more to ensure kids do not drop-out of school and avoid needless suspensions and expulsions. ALL KIDS COUNT.

President Obama Chooses to Help Middle Class

The first repercussions from the November General election are starting to surface

All Democrats support tax cuts for middle class Americans. But Democrats do not support welfare for the multi millionaires and billionaires in the form of tax cuts and relief from estate taxes for the super rich.

Immediately after the election the Republicans ran back to Washington, DC and proclaimed Americans have shown, via votes, that they want multimillionaires and billionaires to have an unlimited extension of tax cuts - and no discussion available because more Republicans are coming in 2011. To hold the President hostage, the Republicans said if the super wealthy did not get tax cuts, all people earning less than one million dollars will have their taxes raised too and those workers who were unemployed because of the economic crash caused by bankers, Wall Street and industrial executives, will no get unemployment compensation. While workers lost their jobs and benefits, most of those tycoons who caused the financial crash walked off with big federal payouts, often recouping 100% of their pay, benefits and bonuses with our dollars.

Now the Republicans are holding the middle class and our Democratic representatives hostage. President Obama has promised to end the tax breaks for the extremely wealthy, but the Republicans promise to ‘stick it” to the average American if he does. President Obama and all recognized economists see the economy improving, so the President does not want to stop middle class growth and spending by taking more family income via taxes. Democrats agree the middle class needs tax cuts and a growing economy with job creation. We have a $14 trillion national debt and the Republicans are forcing our government to increase the national debt by potentially $700 billion dollars and more - that means borrowing more money from China or the middle east - and less control of our government. Meanwhile, the mega wealthy who are getting these tax breaks are spending their money in China, Hong Cong, Taiwan, Pakistan and other foreign countries. Yes, and some of that money funnels back to corrupt officials, Al Qaeda and the Taliban and eventually is used against us in the U.S. in various ways including the illegal drug industry, and against our soldiers. Many U.S. soldiers are killed by weapons bought through the American money chain. The wealthy sell guns to all foreign combatants and the weapons kill our middle-class soldiers.(Not many wealthy fighting in Afghanistan)

The Republican behavior is anti-American and reprehensible and we will have to deal with these issues over the next two years. President Obama has chosen to not punish the American middle class - so he gave the mega wealthy their demanded tax cuts in exchange for middle class tax cuts and an 18 month continuation of unemployment benefits.
We will be debating the tax code and the national debt into 2012, but we must not allow a repeat recession, so the deal to continue to help the middle class must go through now because there will be more Republicans in Congress in January.

President Obama was given a Hobson’s choice. He chose to help the middle class and help the economy. The wealthy billionaires will ride the backs of you and me like drunken cowboys and we can only watch them run off with our money. But, the Central Valley voted to continue this Republican activity for the next two years, so I assume Central Valley Republicans are happy for the Republican tax cut victory.

Never has the gap between rich and poor been wider. It is the best of times (for the rich), it is the worst of times - eventually we taxpayers must pay in taxes for this booty to the wealthy - and America becomes weaker by the increased national debt caused by Republicans.

I know the Modesto Bee is confused about Goodwin's multiple degrees and her titles. Yes, she has a Medical Doctorate and a Juris Doctorate. Goodwin does women's health, preventive medicine, and mental health care. With her law degree, she does legal arbitration and mediation (which does not involve costly bar listing - and she does not need it since she is a doctor) Her arbitration/mediation includes family disputes, auto accidents, contract disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, patient/doctor complaints, hospital/patient disputes, insurance disputes, etc.

But this election is not about Goodwin's title and which title is best for Goodwin. This election is to decide can the valley get health care for our women, kids/babies. seniors, and baby-boomers. Denham wants to repeal the health care bill.

Goodwin will fix the bill and ensure our families have health care. Goodwin will also get mental health care for veterans, kids and others into the valley.

Using her law degree, Goodwin has also helped valley seniors and others successfully get their homes off foreclosure lists. Goodwin has gotten $450,000 for 2010/11 for area farmers who provide fruits and vegetables to the Madera schools. Goodwin has saved the State millions by advocating for early release for terminal inmates, "Goodwin's Law".

3) Education: use our funds better and stop holding up educational funds in Sacramento - as legislators like Denham try to fix state debt.
